WHAT ORYX OFFERS
Your Passport to the Uncharted South
“Travelling leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”,
IIbn Battuta famously wrote. Centuries later, across the vast and untamed landscapes of South America, this truth still holds.
From the frozen edges of Patagonia to the depths of the Amazon, from the soaring Andes to the salt-white deserts of the Atacama, South America is not a destination — it is a world of worlds. After years of curating immersive journeys across continents, ORYX Sudamerica emerges as a dedicated expression of exploration across this extraordinary region. A journey here is not defined by distance alone, but by transformation — of perspective, of pace, and of presence.
Each itinerary is thoughtfully designed to move beyond observation into true connection. Whether tracking wildlife in the Pantanal, sailing remote Amazon waterways, walking Patagonian ridgelines, or standing in the silence of high-altitude salt flats, travellers are guided into the heart of each landscape — not just its highlights.
Every journey offers handpicked stays, from remote eco-lodges to refined wilderness retreats, chosen not only for comfort but for their sense of place. Hosts are local experts and custodians of their regions, offering insight into hidden places, living traditions, and stories that rarely reach the surface.
To experience travel that is immersive, transformative, and profoundly real, let ORYX Sudamerica guide you beyond the expected — and into the soul of the continent.
Experiences
WILDLIFE
In Botswana, mornings begin on narrow delta channels where elephants move through the water with surprising silence. In Kenya and Tanzania, the plains seem to shift during the migration, while in Rwanda and Uganda, gorilla trekking replaces the safari vehicle altogether — hours spent climbing through thick forest before suddenly finding yourself face to face with them. Further south, a drive through the Kruger National Park may pause for lions stretched across the road in the late-afternoon heat, while Ethiopia’s highlands offer an entirely different kind of wildlife experience: gelada monkeys gathered along escarpments and Ethiopian wolves moving across the plateau above the clouds.
ART & CULTURE
Africa reveals itself as much through people as through landscape. In Morocco and Tunisia, daily life still spills through centuries-old medinas — metalworkers at their benches, spice markets thick with scent, cafés filling slowly as evening sets in. In Egypt, temples, tombs and monuments line the Nile with a scale and confidence that still feels astonishing thousands of years later. In Ethiopia’s Omo Valley, Suri, Hamer and Mursi communities continue traditions tied closely to ceremony, adornment and cattle culture, while Maasai communities in East Africa and Himba settlements in Namibia offer a more nuanced understanding of places too often reduced to safari alone.
WELLNESS
Wellness in Africa rarely announces itself. It may be found in the rhythm of days spent outdoors, in the dry heat of a Moroccan hammam, in vineyard lunches in South Africa that drift easily into the afternoon, or in the particular stillness that settles over the Namib Desert after sunset. People often arrive looking for wildlife and leave talking instead about how rested they felt.
ADVENTURE
Adventure in Africa can be surprisingly varied: helicopter flights over Victoria Falls and flamingo-filled lakes, walking safaris in Zambia, quad biking across salt pans in Botswana, or flying low over Namibia’s dunes as shipwrecks emerge along the Skeleton Coast below. The continent rewards travellers willing to follow curiosity rather than rigid itineraries.
