Brazil
BRAZIL. A SYMPHONY OF DANCE AND DISCOVERY.
Try as you might, Brazil defies definition.
On one side of the coin, it has exciting cities, full of life being lived; metropolises such as Rio and São Paulo, made famous for their dining, dancing, decadence, and drumbeats. Party all night to the samba rhythms of the world-famous Rio Carnival. Then, by day, mingle among the throngs of thongs and six-packs on any number of beautiful beaches.
Brazil and Brazilians are at their very best when they are celebrating something, and that something need be no more than convivial company, an ice cold beer in the sunshine, or the sound of a guitar and a reason to dance.
Then there's the other side of this vast and varied country. The one that's found in the wilderness, where quieter cultures stand side by side with the rhythms of nature.
The Amazon is a metropolis unto itself. But here, rivers replace highways, skyscrapers are trees, and the carnival of dancing and costumes becomes a dawn chorus of tropical birds. Drift by boat along the winding waterways of the Pantanal, where jaguars patrol the riverbanks and giant otters glide through quiet channels. Or gaze in slack-jawed wonder into the horseshoe-shaped amphitheater of Iguaçu Falls.
And just when you think you have found this country’s defining rhythm, another tune begins, drawing you back to dance once again.
